P7 News – April 2026

In 2024, an officer was assaulted every 6 minutes somewhere in America.

That's what 85,730 assaults on officers looks like. Of those, 457 involved firearm injuries. That same year, 46 officers were killed by firearms. That's the environment your officers are walking into every single shift. Those numbers come directly from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program, Officers Killed and Assaulted in the Line of Duty, 2024 Special Report, released May 2025, and they represent the highest officer assault rate in a decade. Body armor doesn't eliminate the threat. But it's the one piece of equipment proven to make the difference. The mission of PROJECT 7 Armor has always been simple: Protect Tactical Officers.

NEW GEAR ALERT!

Below Vest Armored Utility Pouch: Essential storage that doesn't compete for vest space

Operators often face a choice between carrying essential gear and maintaining ballistic coverage. Standard utility pouches consume valuable vest attachment points, while groin protection systems can be bulky and restrictive during dynamic movements.

The Below Vest Armored Utility Pouch mounts under your vest via front accessory slots or Velcro attachment, freeing up vest space while providing organized storage. With the optional ballistic insert, it extends lower abdomen protection without compromising mobility.

Under-vest mounting – Preserves vest attachment points for mission-critical gear while keeping essentials accessible

Modular ballistic upgrade – Optional soft armor insert extends protection coverage when threat assessment requires it

Quick detach capability – Rapid reconfiguration between missions without tools or complex rigging changes

Why it matters: When every attachment point matters and protection gaps can be critical, this pouch delivers both storage efficiency and ballistic options.

Platform Spotlight: SPR — Scalable Plate Rack

When the mission changes, your armor should too.

Special operations personnel face wildly different mission profiles that demand different armor configurations. Running the same heavy setup for dynamic entries and extended rural ops compromises mobility or protection. Traditional carriers force you to choose between coverage and agility.

The SPR uses a modular design that lets operators scale protection to match mission requirements. Start with hard armor plates and add or remove components like throat protection, upper arm coverage, and groin protection based on threat assessment and operational tempo.

96 Scaling Configurations – Mix and match components to build exactly what your mission requires without carrying dead weight

Quick-Adjust 3-Piece Cummerbund – Adapts to different body positions and load requirements while maintaining consistent plate positioning

Three Loadout Options – Configure your carry to match your mission with Fixed MOLLE, FLEX, or FLEXAROO

Why it matters: When mission profiles change rapidly, your armor platform should adapt rather than compromise your effectiveness.

10x12 or SAPI plate compatibility, 24 size combinations available, integrated load bearing system with internal wire routing.

Details Matter: Below-Vest Positioning

The gap below your vest isn't just a storage opportunity. It's a vulnerability.

Traditional vest-mounted pouches create bulk that can compromise armor fit and present snag hazards during entry operations. More critically, they leave the lower abdomen vulnerable to ballistic threats below the armor's coverage area. Our Below Vest Explosive Breaching Pouch and Below Vest Armored Utility Pouch include ballistic inserts specifically positioned to extend protection into this gap zone. The lower placement also improves weight distribution, reducing fatigue during extended operations. Officers can access essential gear without reaching across their body or compromising shooting positions. This positioning keeps mission-critical items like breaching charges, medical supplies, and gas masks readily available while maintaining the armor's protective envelope. The design eliminates the common problem of gear interfering with weapon manipulation or creating pressure points that cause officers to loosen their vests.

Small positioning change. Big difference when shots come low and gear access counts.

How-To: Select the Right P7 Platform for Your Mission

P7 offers six distinct platforms, each engineered for specific operational requirements. Here's how to match your mission profile to the right system.

High-Risk Entry Operations

  • Choose SEV (Scalable Entry Vest) for SWAT or entry team roles
  • Leverage its 96 configurations to dial protection up or down per mission
  • Add B1X Battle Belt when maximum coverage is required
  • Use soft-armor-first design for mobility during dynamic entries

Extended Tactical Operations

  • Select TRV (Tactical Response Vest) for narco, fugitive, K9, or tactical medic roles
  • Rely on fixed shoulder design for comfort during long missions
  • Take advantage of quick don/doff capability when time is critical
  • Scale protection across varied mission types with single platform

Daily Patrol and Detective Work

  • Use XPV (Xternal Patrol Vest) for all-day armor wear
  • Eliminate coverage gaps with four-panel design over traditional two-piece systems
  • Choose from 280 size options for precise fit
  • Configure for uniform patrol, low-profile work, or with concealable carrier

Special Operations

  • Deploy SPR (Scalable Plate Rack) for dynamic entries and linear assaults
  • Use hard-armor-first design for maximum ballistic protection
  • Scale across 96 configurations for mission-specific requirements
  • Add accessory ballistics (throat, upper arm, ab/spine, groin) as needed

Weight-Critical Operations

  • Choose UPR (Ultralight Plate Rack) for aerial, maritime, or vertical access work
  • Prioritize range of motion and minimal weight over maximum coverage
  • Maintain hard armor protection at lightest possible footprint

Rapid Response Scenarios

  • Use ASR (Active Shooter Rack) for grab-and-go hard armor needs
  • Take advantage of one-size-fits-all design with wide adjustability
  • Deploy quickly without complex scalability considerations
  • Utilize built-in collapsible kangaroo pouch for essential gear
